High density polythene (HDP) or high density polyethylene (HDPE) is prepared by coordination polymerization of ethene at $6 0^{\circ} - 16 0^{\circ} C$ and 6-7 atm. pressure in the presence of Zeigler-Natta catalyst (triethylaluminium and titanium trichloride or tetrachloride).
