[CO(NH3)6 SO4]Cl gives a white precipitate with excess of AgNO3 solution. This is because, when [CO(NH3)5 SO4]Cl is dissolved in water, it will give chloride, Cl ions in the solution. On addition of AgNO3, a white precipitate of AgCl is obtained.
