Solution:

$[CO(NH_3)_6 SO_4]Cl$ gives a white precipitate with excess of $AgNO_3$ solution. This is because, when $[CO(NH_3)_5 SO_4]Cl$ is dissolved in water, it will give chloride, $Cl$ ions in the solution. On addition of $AgNO_3$, a white precipitate of $AgCl$ is obtained.
