If u1 and u2 are the velocities of two particles then in case 1, u1 + u2 = 6 and in case 2, u1 - u2 = 4 Adding the two equations, we get, 2u1 = 10 i.e. u1 = 5 m s-1 Puting, u1 = 5 in any of the above two equations we get u2 = 1 m s-1
