$mu=2mv\cos \theta$
Since all the balls are identical, their centres at the moment of collision form an equilateral triangle. Hence $\theta =30^{\circ }$
$u=2v\cos 30^{\circ }=\frac{2v\sqrt{3}}{2}$
$u=v\sqrt{3}$
Using any one ball,
$=\frac{v-0}{u\cos 30^{\circ }-0}$
$=\frac{v}{u\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}}=\frac{v}{v\sqrt{3}\cdot \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}}$
$\Rightarrow e=\frac{2}{3}$.
