Acetaldehyde ( CH 3 CHO ) and acetophenone ( C 6 H 5 COCH 3) both react with phenyl hydrazine ( C 6 H 5 NHNH 2) and hydroxyl amine ( NH 2 OH ). It also give iodoform test with ( NaOH - I 2). But acetophenone does not give addition compound with NaHSO 3 unlike CH 3 CHO.
