Solution:

If emitter is type, it is connected to positive plate of battery, and base type is connected to negative plate of battery, hence we can say that emitter base is forward biased
Similarly if collector is type, it is connected to negative plate of battery, and base type is connected to positive plate of battery, hence we can say that collector base is reversed biased
