Q.
Leucine is one of the three amino acids which are coded by 6 codons. The codons that code for leucine are CUU,CUC,CUA,CUG,UUA,UUG . How many minimum types of t RNA will be required for reading all codons of leucine?

Solution:
Codons for Leucine are CUU,CUC,CUA,CUG,UUA,UUG . Out of these, CUU,CUC,CUA,CUG can be read by 1 t-RNA (as they satisfy conditions for Wobble hypothesis). But UUA and UUG can only be read by another t-RNA as even though they code for same amino acid they are very different form CUU,CUC,CUA,CUG . Thus at least two different t-RNAs are required for reading all codons of Leucine
