For an ideal gas, the coefficient of volume expansion at constant pressure can be found from the ideal gas equation, pV=μRT...(i)
At constant pressure, pΔV=μRΔT...(ii)
Divide Eq. (ii) by Eq. (i), we get VΔV=TΔT
Also, VΔV=αVΔT
i.e. αV=T1, for ideal gas
So, for an ideal gas, coefficient of volume expansion is given by T1.
