The p-side of p-n junction is taken at higher potential than n-side so, p-n junction is forward biased. Taking its resistance to be zero and appiying Ohm's law.
$I=\frac{V}{R}=\frac{5-2}{300}=10^{-2}A$
$=10^{-2}\times 10^{3}mA$
$=10mA$
