-bromobutane undergo dehydrohalogenation in presence of strong alkali like sodium ethoxide in ethanol. The elimination is according to Saytzeff rule-"During dehydrohalogenation is eliminated so as to form more alkylated alkene i.e., from the carbon atom which has less atoms.
