A person with blood group ' O ' is a universal donor, whereas person with blood group 'AB' is a universal recipient. Blood group ' O ' do not have any antigen on their RBC whereas blood group 'AB' do not have any antibody in their blood plasma, but both the antigens A and B on their RBC.
Therefore, a person with blood group 'A' can donate blood to a person with blood group 'A' or 'AB' and can receive blood from a person with blood group 'A' or 'O'.
