Q. Which of the following statements is false regarding the "law of segregation"?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020Principles of Inheritance and Variation

Solution:

Law of segregation states that during gamete formation the allele segregate from each other and during gamete formation only one allele enters each gamete. This segregation of allele occurs due to separation of chromosomes during meiosis. The alleles do not show any blending and that both the characters are recovered as such in the $F_2$ generation though one of these is not seen at the $F_1$ stage.
