Q. Which of the following shows the correct sequence of processes with respect to the PCR?

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

PCR stands for a polymerase chain reaction, in this reaction, multiple copies of the gene of interest are synthesized in vitro using two sets of primers and enzyme $\text{DNA}$ polymerase. The enzyme extends the primers using the nucleotides provided in the reaction and the genomic $\text{DNA}$ as a template. It involves denaturation of the $\text{DNA}$ , attachment of primers called annealing and extension by enzyme $\text{DNA}$ polymerase.
