Q. Which of the following enzymes is used in genetic engineering?

Biotechnology : Principles and Processes

Solution:

Restriction endonuclease has a wide use in genetic engineering. DNA molecules are broken down to smaller segments by means of restriction endonucleases. They break DNA at specific sites called restriction sites. The enzymes are obtained from bacteria such as EcoRI from Escherichia coli, BamHl from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.
