Q. When $KMnO_{4}$ reacts with oxalic acid and $HCl$ separately in acidic medium, Then $KMnO_{4}$ is convert into $Mn^{2 +},C_{2}O_{4}^{- 2}$ into $CO_{2}$ and $Cl^{-}$ into $Cl_{2}$ . The moles ratio of $\left[MnO_{4}^{- 2} : C_{2} O_{4}^{- 2}\right]$ and $\left[MnO_{4}^{- 2} : HCl\right]$ are respective balanced chemical equations are, respectively.

Solution:

$16H^{+}+2MnO_{4}^{-}+5C_{2}O_{4}^{2 -} \rightarrow 2Mn^{+ 2}+10CO_{2}+8H_{2}O$
$MnO_{4}^{-}:C_{2}O_{4}^{2 -}=2:5$
$2KMnO_{4}+16HCl \rightarrow 2KCl+2MnCl_{2}+5Cl_{2}+8H_{2}O$
$MnO_{4}^{-}:HCl=2:16=1:8$
