Q. Two bodies of different masses $m_a \, and \, m_b$ are allowed to fall from different heights $a$ and $b$. The ratio of time taken by the two to cover these distances are

Motion in a Straight Line

Solution:

Using, S = $ut + \frac{1}{2} gt^2 $,
we get $t \propto \sqrt{s}$
$\therefore t_2:t_2::\sqrt{a}:\sqrt{b}$
