Q. Three resistances are connected to form the sides of a triangle $A B C,$ the resistance of the sides $A B, B C$ and $C A$ are $40\, \Omega, 60\, \Omega$ and $100\, \Omega$ respectively. The effective resistance between the points $A$ and $B$ in ohm will be

Here, $40 \Omega$ is in parallel with $(100+60)\,\Omega$.
So, effective resistance between $A$ and $B$ is
$=\frac{40 \times(100+60)}{40+(100+60)}=32\, \Omega$
