Q. The specific conductance of a $N/10\, KCl$ at $25^{\circ}\,C$ is $0.0112\, ohm^{-1} cm^{-1}$ . The resistance of cell containing solution at the same temperature was found to be $55$ ohms. The cell constant will be

AIIMSAIIMS 1998Electrochemistry

Solution:

We known that

specific conductance = Cell constant $\times$ conductance

$\Rightarrow $ Cell constant = Resitances $\times$ sp. conductance

$=55 \times 0.0112$

$=0.616\, cm ^{-1}$
