Q. The rate constant is given by the equation $ k=PZe^{-E/RT}, $ which factor should register a decrease for the reaction to proceed more rapidly?

Solution:

From Arrhenius equation $k=A Z e^{-E_{a} / R T}$ where, $A$ is
$=$ frequency factor $E_{a}$
$=$ energy of activation $e^{-E_{a} / R T}$
$=$ Boltzmann factor $A$ decrease in activation energy $\left(E_{a}\right)$ will
increase rate constant $( k )$ and rate of reaction increase.
