Solution:

It is an example of internal Cannizzaro reaction; where $-CHO$ is oxidized while ketonic group of the same molecule is reduced. Since reactivity of aldehyde is more than that of ketone therefore, $OH^{-}$ will attack on aldehyde, and it will get oxidise and ketone will get reduce to form alcohol.
