Acidic hydrolysis of esters gives acid and alcohol as alcohol obtained undergoes keto-enol tautomerism so from $P$ we get ketone and from $Q$ we get aldehyde. Ketone (non-reducing) and aldehyde (reducing) can be distinguished by Fehling solution.
