Q. The number of mole of $MnO _{4}^{-}$ required by 1 mole of ferric oxalate for oxidation is/are-

Redox Reactions

Solution:

$48 H ^{+}+6 MnO _{4}^{-}+5 Fe _{2}\left( C _{2} O _{4}\right)_{3} \rightarrow 6 Mn ^{2+}+3 CO _{2}+$

$10 Fe ^{3+}+24 H _{2} O$

5 moles of ferric oxalate require $MnO _{4}^{-}=6$ moles

1 moles of ferric oxalate require $MnO _{4}^{-}=\frac{6}{5}=1.2$
