Q. The flocculation value of $HCl$ for arsenic sulphide sol. is $30\,m\,mol\,L^{- 1}$ . If $H_{2}SO_{4}$ is used for the flocculation of arsenic sulphide, the amount, in grams of $H_{2}SO_{4}$ in $250\,ml$ required for the above purposed is $y\times 10^{- 2}g$ . Calculate value of $y$? (molecular mass of $H_{2}SO_{4}=98\,g/mol$ )

Solution:

$m$ . moles of $HC$ required for $1\,lit.=30$
$m$ . moles of $H_{2}SO_{4}1\,lit.=15$
$m$ . moles of $H_{2}SO_{4}$ in $250\,ml=\frac{15}{4}$
weight of $H_{2}SO_{4}=\frac{15}{4}\times 10^{- 3}\times 98$
$=0.37\,gm$
