Q. The area enclosed by $y = 3x - 5, y = 0, x = 3$ and $x = 5$ is

Solution:

Area $=\int\limits_{3}^{5}(3 x-5) d x$
$=\frac{3}{2}\left(x^{2}\right)_{3}^{5}-5(x)_{3}^{5}=\frac{3}{2}[25-9]-5(5-3)$
$=\frac{3}{2} 16-5(2)=24-10=14$
