Solution:

Let $y=\sqrt[3]{28}$
Taking log on both sides, we get
$\log\, y =\frac{1}{3} \,\log \,28$
$=\frac{1}{3} \times 1.4472 $
$=0.4824$
$\Rightarrow y = $ antilog $(0.4824)$
$=3.037$ (approximately)
