Q. Statement I The distance between the points $P(1,-3,4)$ and $Q(-4,1,2)$ is $\sqrt{5}$ units.
Statement II $P Q=\sqrt{\left(x_2-x_1\right)^2+\left(y_2-y_1\right)^2+\left(z_2-z_1\right)^2}$
where, $P$ and $Q$ are $\left(x_1, y_1, z_1\right)$ and $\left(x_2, y_2, z_2\right)$.

Introduction to Three Dimensional Geometry

Solution:

The distancee $P Q$ between the points
$P(1,-3, 4)$ and $Q(-4,1,2)$ is
$P Q =\sqrt{(-4-1)^2+(1+3)^2+(2-4)^2} $
$=\sqrt{25+16+4}=\sqrt{45}=3 \sqrt{5} $ units
