Q. Specific heat of a gas undergoing adiabatic change is

AMUAMU 2002

Solution:

If during a process taking place in a system, heat $(Q)$ neither enters the system nor leaves it, then the process is adiabatic that is $Q=0$.
From the formula of specific heat, we have
$c=\frac{Q}{m \Delta T} $
For adiabatic change $Q=0$
$\therefore c =0$
