Q. One litre of carbonated water is prepared by dissolving $CO_{2}$ gas at a pressure of $2.4$ atm in $1kg$ water in the bottling process at $25^\circ C.K_{H}$ of $CO_{2}$ in water is $4\times 10^{4}atm$ at $25^\circ C.$ Find the mass of dissolved $CO_{2}$ in $mg$ (Round off answer to the nearest integer)

Solution:

$p=K_{H}\cdot X$
$2.4=4\times 10^{4}\times \frac{n_{CO_{2}}}{n_{CO_{2}} + \frac{1000}{18}}\approx4\times 10^{4}\times \frac{n_{CO_{2}}}{1000 / 18}$
$n_{CO_{2}}=\frac{10}{3}\times 10^{- 3}$
$n_{CO_{2}}=\frac{10}{3}\times 10^{- 3}\times 44gm=146.67mg$
