Depression in freezing point is a colligative property, so depends upon the number of particles. Among, potassium chloride $(KCl)$, sodium sulphate $\left( Na _{2} SO _{4}\right)$, magnesium sulphate $\left( MgSO _{4}\right)$ and magnesium carbonate $\left( MgCO _{3}\right), Na _{2} SO _{4}$ produces maximum number of particles.
$Na _{2} SO _{4} \rightleftharpoons \underbrace{2 Na ^{+}+ SO _{4}^{2-}}_{3 \text { particles }}$
Thus, it causes maximum depression in freezing point.
