Q. $KMnO _{4}$ reacts with oxalic acid solution:
$2 KMnO _{4}+3 H _{2} SO _{4}+5 H _{2} C _{2} O _{4}$
$\rightarrow K _{2} SO _{4}+2 MnSO _{4}+10 CO _{2}+8 H _{2} O$
What mass of $KMnO _{4}$ in aqueous solution will be required to completely react with $100 mL$ of $M / 10$ oxalic acid solution?

Redox Reactions

Solution:

$\frac{\frac{M_{ KMnO _{4}}}{ M _{ KMnO _{4}}} \times 1000}{( MV )_{\text {oxalicacid }}}=\frac{2}{5}$

$\frac{ W _{ KMnO _{4}}}{158} \times 1000=\frac{2}{5} \times \frac{1}{10} \times 100$

$W _{ KMnO _{4}}=\frac{2}{5} \times \frac{1}{10} \times 100 \times \frac{158}{1000}$

$=0.632\,g$
