Q. In the following figure the masses of the blocks $A$ and $B$ are same and each equal to $m$. The tensions in the strings $O A$ and $A B$ are $T_{2}$ and $T_{1}$, respectively. The system is in equilibrium with a constant horizontal force mg on $B$. the angle $\theta_{1}$ isPhysics Question Image

Laws of Motion

Solution:

From the solution of previous problem, if we divide equation (ii) by equation (i), we get
$\frac{T_{1} \sin \theta_{1}}{T_{1} \cos \theta_{1}}=\frac{m g}{m g}$
$\therefore \tan \theta_{1}=1$
or $\theta_{1}=45^{\circ}$
