Width of central maxima due to single slit diffraction is given by,
$\beta = \frac{2 \lambda D}{d} $
Here, $\beta = 2 d$
So, $2 d = \frac{ 2 \lambda D}{d} $ or $D = \frac{d^2}{\lambda}$
