Q.
In the circuit shown, if readings of the ammeters $A_{1 }$ and $A_{2 }$ are $i_{1}$ and $i_{2}$ , respectively, Assume all ammeters to be ideal. Find the reading in the ammeter $A_{3}$

Solution:
We can see from the diagram that ammeter $A_{1 }andA_{2}$ are connected in parallel and in a parallel LR circuit, resultant current is given by;
$i=\sqrt{i_{1}^{2} + i_{2}^{2}}$
where $i$ is the net current.
$i_{1}$ is current through $A_{1}$
$i_{2}$ is current through $A_{2}$
current through $A_{3}$
$\Rightarrow i=\sqrt{i_{1}^{2} + i_{2}^{2}} < \left(\right.i_{1}+i_{2}\left.\right)$
$i=\sqrt{i_{1}^{2} + i_{2}^{2}}$
where $i$ is the net current.
$i_{1}$ is current through $A_{1}$
$i_{2}$ is current through $A_{2}$
current through $A_{3}$
$\Rightarrow i=\sqrt{i_{1}^{2} + i_{2}^{2}} < \left(\right.i_{1}+i_{2}\left.\right)$
