Q. In Carius method of estimation of halogens, $0.5\, g$ of an organic compound gave $0.376\, g$ of $AgBr$. The percentage of bromine in the compound is (Atomic mass of $Ag =108\, u$ and $Br =80\, u$ )

Solution:

Percentage of bromine $=\frac{80}{188} \times \frac{0.376}{0.5} \times 100$
$=32 \%$
