Solution:

Bentham and Hooker divided flowering plant into three classes namely Dicotyledonae, Gymnospermae and Monocotyledonae. Dicotyledonae (Plants contain two cotyledons in their seed) was divided into three subclasses namely Polypetalae, Gamopetalae and Monochlamydae. Polypetalae is further divided into three series –
Thalamiflorae-with 6 cohort or orders
Disciflorae -with 4 cohorts and Calyciflorae- with 5 cohort.
Gamopetalae is further divided into three series –
Inferae - with 3 cohort,
Heteromerae -with 3 cohort and Bicarpellatae- with 4 cohort
