Q. In an ac circuit an alternating voltage $e=200\, \sqrt{2} \sin 100\, t$ volts is connected to $a$ capacitor of capacity $10\, \mu F$. The r.m.s. value of the current in the circuit is :-

Alternating Current

Solution:

$I _{ rms }=\frac{ V _{ rms }}{ X _{ C }}= V _{ rms } \omega c$
$\Rightarrow I _{ rms }=200 \times 100 \times 10 \times 10^{-6}$
$=200\, mA$
