Q. In a step-up transformer, the voltage in the primary is $220 \, V$ and the current is $5 \, A.$ The secondary voltage is found to be $22000 \, V.$ The current in the secondary coil (neglect losses) is

Solution:

$\frac{V_{s}}{V_{p}}=\frac{I_{p}}{I_{s}}$
$\Rightarrow I_{s}=I_{p}\times \frac{V_{p}}{V_{s}}$
$=5\times \frac{220}{22000}=0.05A$
