Q. If the volume of closed vessel in which the following simple reaction is carried out is reduced to one-third of original volume, the rate of reaction becomes
$2 NO ( g )+ O _{2}( g ) \longrightarrow 2 NO _{2}( g )$

$V _{2}=\frac{ V _{1}}{3} \rightarrow C _{2}=3 C _{1} $
$\left(\right.$ conc. $\left.\propto \frac{1}{\text { volume }}\right)$
$r _{1}= K [ NO ]^{2}\left[ O _{2}\right]$
$r _{2} \Rightarrow K [3 NO ]^{2}\left(3 O _{2}\right)$
$\Rightarrow 27 K [ NO ]^{2}\left[ O _{2}\right]=27 r _{1}$
