Q. If $0.30$ mol of zinc are added to 0.52 mol of $HCl$, the moles of $H _{2}$ formed are:

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

$Zn +2 HCl \rightarrow ZnCl _{2}+ H _{2}$

Here: $HCl$ is a limiting reagent

$\therefore $ Moles of $H _{2}$ produced $=\frac{\text { moles of } HCl }{2}$

$=\frac{0.52}{2}=0.26$
