$\underset{\text{Acid amide}}{{RCONH_{2}}}+Br_{2}+4KOH \to \underset{\text{$1^{\circ}$ amine}}{RNH_{2}}+2KBr+K_{2}CO_{3}+2H_{2}O$
The $1^{\circ}$ amine formed has one carbon atom lesser than that present in acid amide
