Q. From a tower of height $45\,m$ , a stone is dropped, calculate the total distance travelled by the stone during the last one second of motion? (Given: $g=10\,m/s^{2}$ )

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

$S=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^{2}$
$u=0$
$t=\sqrt{\frac{2 S}{g}}=3s$
Distance covered in $3$rd second (last second)
$\Rightarrow D_{3}=u+\frac{a}{2}\left(\right.2\times 3-1\left.\right)=25\,m$
