Q. For driving a current of $3$ ampere for $5$ minutes in an electrical circuit, $900$ joule of work is to be done. Find the emf of the source in the circuit. (in $V$)

Current Electricity

Solution:

Given $I=3$ ampere
$I =3$ ampere
$t =5$ minutes $=5 \times 60=300\, \sec.$
$W =900$ Joule
$W = P \times t\,\,( P = VI )$
or $W = VIt$
or $V =\frac{ W }{ It }=\frac{900}{3 \times 300}=1$ volt
$V =1$ volt
