Q. Find the value of the potential at $x=+x$ , if a uniform electric field having a magnitude $E_{0} \, $ and directed along the positive $x-$ axis exists. Take the potential as zero at $x=0$ .

Solution:

As $ \, E=-\frac{d V}{d r}$
$\therefore \, \, +E_{0}=-\frac{\left[V \left(x\right) - 0\right]}{x}$
or $V_{x}=-E_{0}x$
