Symmetrical molecule
Number of chiral carbon atoms = 2 (even)
Number of stereoisomers = $2^{n-1}+2^{\frac{n}{2}-1}$
$=2^{2-1}+2^{\frac{2}{2}-1}=2^{1}+2^{0}=2+1=3$
