Q. During charging of capacitor find time when potential drop across capacitor is equal to potential drop across resistance :-

Solution:

$V_{R}=V_{C}$
$V_{0}e^{- t / \tau}=V_{0}\left(1 - e^{- t / \tau}\right)$
$2e^{- t / \tau}=1$
$e^{- t / \tau}=\frac{1}{2}$
$\frac{t}{\tau}=ln2$
