Q. Copper sulphate solution is electrolysed between two platinum electrodes. A current is passed until $1.6g$ of oxygen is liberated at anode. The amount of copper deposited at the cathode during the same period is: [At. mass of $Cu=63.6\left]\right.$

Solution:

For $O_{2},m=\frac{E \times Q}{nF}$ and $Q=\frac{m}{E}\times nF=0.2F$
For $Cu,m=\frac{E \times Q}{nF}=\frac{63 .5}{2 \times F}\times 0.2F=6.36g$
Hence, $\left(\right.1\left.\right)$ is correct.
