Q. Calculate the molality of solution containing $3\, g$ glucose dissolved in $30\, g$ of water. (molar mass of glucose $=180$ )

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

Molality $=\frac{\text { moles of solute }}{w t \text { of solvent }( kg )}=\frac{ n _{ B }}{ w _{ A }( kg )}$
$w _{ B }=3\, g,\, w _{ A }=30\, g$
Molarity $( m )=\frac{\frac{3}{180}}{30} \times 1000$
$=\frac{1}{1800} \times 1000=0.56\, m$
