Q. Calculate the angular momentum of an electron in 'd' orbital .

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

For d-electrons l=2
Angular orbital momentum $=\sqrt{l \left(\right. l + 1 \left.\right)}\frac{h}{2 \pi }$
$=\sqrt{6}\frac{h}{2 \pi }=\sqrt{6}ℏ$
$\therefore \frac{h}{2 \pi }=ℏ$
