Q. Assertion : Anilinium chloride is more acidic than ammonium chloride.
Reason : Anilinium chloride is resonance stabilised.

AIIMSAIIMS 2006

Solution:

It is true that anilinium chloride is more acidic than ammonium chloride because it form salt with water and liberate amine when treated with strong base
$C _{6} H _{5} NH _{3}^{+} Cl ^{-}+ NaOH \longrightarrow C _{6} H _{5} NH _{2} + H _{2} O + NaCl .$
Anilinium ion does not show resonance because charge dispersion at ring may involve pentavalent nitrogen structure.
